And, we are "the governed". You and I. Both of us. And because of the significance of the "…powers…" we have bestowed upon those we have chosen to govern us, it is incumbent upon us to know what they are doing. Likewise, as futile as it may seem, it is our civic responsibility to validate or refute the actions taken in our name. We are, after all, "We the People".
And that is where the Acadiana Progressive Organization comes into play.
APO is focused on three goals.
- Determining the truth. The world appears to have entered an "information paradox:" Despite the increasing flow of information, people around the globe struggle to find the news and information they need to guide them in making the basic decisions in their lives.
- Comprehending how the political activity (or inactivity) at the various levels of Government (i.e. local, State, or National) actually affect each one of us, our families and communities.
- Increasing the communications between "...we the people..." and those whom have been elected to represent us.
We invite you to look through these pages and use what you find freely, with proper citations, of course. Join in the conversation, challenge the facts, participate on your own or join us. The more individuals that participate, the more diverse the opinions, and therefore, the more complete the conversation.
